Classrooms are set up in several parts of Debrecen with the support of UNICEF

Four tenders concern the design of so-called study rooms. One location is the Pac district, where the DMJV Family and Child-Welfare Centre will have classrooms in the building at Pacikert Street 1. Classrooms are also being created at István út 9 in Haláp, in the former building of the Civil Guard, at the Bokorhegyi School, and at Tank Street 92 in Haláp, where the kindergarten operates. During the developments, renovations are also carried out on the buildings.

The fifth investment, which is also planned to be implemented with the help of UNICEF, is the transformation of the library building at Mátyás király Street 29, which will include the modernization of the existing water blocks, the construction of a new barrier-free water block, the provision of barrier-free traffic conditions, the revision of the existing electrical and mechanical systems, and the transformation of premises, for interior renovation and replacement of the canopy above the entrance.

The relationship between UNICEF and the municipality of Debrecen has been closer since 2022, the children’s fund supports local organizations involved in the care of Ukrainian refugees, but they also provided help for the launch of the TSMT tournament, which helps children with different development, and contributed HUF 180 million to Mozdulj, Debrecen! movement for the renovation of the health development center in Szent Anna Street, as well as for the launch of health protection programs.
