Five patients died and another 55 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Thursday, highlighting that 5,523,878 people have been vaccinated in Hungary so far, 5,126,330 of whom have already received the second dose of the vaccine.
The government portal wrote that:
The number of infected people identified in Hungary increased to 808,393. The number of the deceased rose to 30,004 and that of the recovered to 740,790.
The number of active infections is 37,599. The hospital cares for 72 coronavirus patients, 13 of whom are on a ventilator.
There are 1678 in official house quarantine, the number of samples increased to 6,179,187.
An EU vaccination certificate is now available for travel within the EU. Citizens planning to travel within the EU are advised to download the EU Covid certificate digitally or print it out via the public portal of the Electronic Health Services Area (EHIC), for which an educational film can be found on the website. The EU certificate does not qualify as a travel document, is not issued or sent ex officio, they added.
It is still possible to register continuously on the website www.vakcinainfo.gov.hu, and those with a valid registration can also book an appointment for vaccination on the website www.eeszt.gov.hu. Holders of valid registrations, including validly registered foreigners living in Hungary and Hungarian citizens abroad, can automatically book an appointment online.
Pfizer, Sinopharm and a limited number of Sputnik vaccines can be booked nationwide in the online appointment book. Janssen and Moderna vaccines are also available at some vaccination sites, they added.
According to the map of the site, most people have been registered so far in Budapest (144,234) and Pest County (112,103). It is followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (46,680), Győr-Moson-Sopron (44,461) and Hajdú-Bihar counties (42,621). The county least affected by the infection is Tolna (17,775).
