Debrecen’s first pedestrian street, Batthyány Street, will host a new initiative, the International Street Festival, on June 28, 2024. This free event will offer visitors a taste of the diverse cultures represented in the city.

The Creative Community of Debrecen, a coalition of businesses and NGOs on Batthyány Street, has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to transform the pedestrian street with vibrant events. They have previously organized popular events such as the Halloween Street Festival, the Batthyány Fair and Children’s Flea Market, and the International Rhyme Festival. This upcoming festival on June 28 will showcase the cultures of various nations present in Debrecen, featuring:

- drinks
- dances
- music
- children’s activities
- sports from many countries around the world.
Additionally, the event will mark the official opening of the “OTT-HOME. International Meeting Point,” a space where international and Hungarian cultures can intersect.
