On June 17, the first scheduled flight operated by Wizz Air from Debrecen to the magical island of Santorini in 2021 took off. With the departure of the flight, on which nearly 100 people traveled, the summer season officially began.
Once a week from June 17, on Thursdays, the flight will operate directly between Debrecen and Santorini. Operators are confident that, like other flights, it will become a favorite destination for passengers during the summer season. In June, four more holiday flights will start from Debrecen on schedule; Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Larnaca in Cyprus, Tel Aviv in Israel, and Antalya in Turkey.
Despite the fact that the aviation industry may have an extremely difficult year in 2020, we look forward to this summer season, which is further confirmed by the good news that Wizz Air has expanded the number of destinations available from Debrecen to Santorini. As a passive, it will be a popular destination for families looking for active recreation, older or even young people, as there are many beautiful small towns on the island of Santorini, with excellent gastronomy, sandy beaches and crystal clear water.
– said János Vajda, the managing director of Debrecen International Airport Kft., Which operates Debrecen International Airport. ”
With the advancement of the coronavirus vaccination and the gradual easing of travel restrictions, Debrecen International Airport expects an increase in booking data compared to last year, which proved to be favorable for flights to London, Eindhoven and Santorini from the outset. However, safety is still the first thing, so the airport is increasingly asking its passengers to follow the hygiene precautions put in place.
It is a great pleasure for us to be able to take off Wizz Air planes from Debrecen again from June. We continue to work to get as many flights as possible from here, making it easier for those who want to travel from the region to reach their destination easily and conveniently. Today, more and more popular holiday destinations are available, and after the previously announced return flights, Santorini has also joined our seaside destinations. We hope that many of our passengers will get to the beach of their dreams this summer as well to relax this difficult year for everyone.
Said András Radó, a spokesman for Wizz Air.
