Last Saturday, a conference dealing with the most modern ways of treating hypertension was held in the Hypertonia Center of the University of Debrecen.The organizers invited the family doctors, internists, pharmacists of the region. Hypertension is often accompanied by diabetes, fat metabolism disorder, kidney problems and these were discussed in different talks. Dr. Dénes Páll, head of the Hypertonia Center said that 30-35 % of the Hungarian adults suffer from hypertension and the number of diabetes patients has increased over the last decades. At present, 6-7 % of the adult population is affected.
