The trail is going to be built with EU support. The two settlements applied for it together, the EU decided to finance the whole project.
The already existing bike path is going to be extended by a route of more than 4 km which is going to be built along the Eastern side of the highway 47. The construction works will cost 490 million forints. As opposed to the earlier specifications according to which the EU gives 85% of the money, the financing conditions have changed since the EU is going to finance the project completely. The new route is planned to be opened to cyclists in the summer of 2013.
