The University of Debrecen officially handed over that 13-hectare area in Pallag on which a training center is going to be built in 2012.
Rector János Nagy and András Herczeg director of the Debrecen Football Academy has signed an agreement under which the university hands over the Pallag area for use. If all goes well, the construction works will begin in the first week of March, 2012. According to the plans, the training center will be handed over by November, 2012.
János Nagy said he had made this decision because he intended to help find and prepare talented ones. He added that the university should support healthy lifestyle, mass sports and competitive sports at the same time. “I believe that in almost all of the high schools in this region there are sport talents whom we must discover and prepare for both the civil life and for doing sports. I hope that the results of this program will increase the international reputation of the university.”- said he.
