The police secured the festival scenes with 300 people. They were responsible primarily for informing the citizens and the guests, controlling the traffic, enforcing traffic limitation rules but they placed much emphasis on preventing car break-ins, pick pocketing, vandalism and accidents. In the last one, a helicopter doing aerial surveillance helped a lot. In addition, the police secured the carnival route, the fireworks scene and the street party. Besides 6 car break-ins, one case of vandalism, one case of group vandalism and one case of breach of peace, nothing extraordinary happened during the carnival.
