The Municipal Council decided in case of
Istvan Gadus`s proposal and will fund the
erection of a local Holocaust memorial in
Debrecen.
Mayor Lajos Kosa will consult with the leaders of the local jewish community about the details and the location of the memorial. He said that he already proposed and advised them to place the memorial in the renewable
Halkoz area but the congregation refused that.
They want to put it to a space where anyone can see and will be protected from damage.
